MascoTech, Inc. at Annual Investor Conference Announces Intent To Dispose of Certain BusinessesTAYLOR, Mich., June 15 -- Frank M. Hennessey, Chief Executive Officer of MascoTech, Inc. , speaking at the Company's annual investor conference, announced the Company's intent to dispose of certain of its aftermarket businesses and its vacuum metallizing operation. The businesses to be disposed have aggregate annual sales of approximately $125 million. The Company believes that aggregate proceeds will equal or exceed its carrying value for these businesses. The cash portion of such proceeds will be applied to reduce the Company's indebtedness. Mr. Hennessey further commented that, based on current business conditions, the Company expects earnings per common share for the second quarter of 1998 to equal or exceed the consensus analyst estimate of approximately $.48, notwithstanding recently announced work stoppages at a major customer.
