Thyssen Inc., North America Names Brian Hall Executive Vice President/CIODETROIT, June 15 -- Thyssen Inc., North America announced today that Mr. Brian Hall will join the company as Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer, effective August 1, 1998. In addition to his responsibilities as the senior executive in charge of the company's Information Systems, Mr. Hall will also serve on Thyssen Inc., N.A.'s Executive Committee, reporting directly to Mr. Kenneth J. Graham, President/CEO. In a statement announcing the appointment of Mr. Hall to the newly created position at Thyssen Inc., N.A., Mr. Kenneth J. Graham said, "I am very pleased to welcome Brian Hall to Thyssen. His outstanding credentials and background, which includes extensive work with the metals industry, will significantly enhance our efforts to stay on the leading edge of information systems, services, and technology." Continuing, Mr. Graham noted that "as Thyssen continues to grow its materials management and distribution operations in North America, Mr. Hall's previous experience in developing business processes, marketing and delivery systems will be a great asset to the company." Brian Hall comes to Thyssen Inc., N.A. from Electronic Data Systems (EDS) where he most recently served as President of the EDS Metals Industry Division, prior to which, he was Vice President and General Manager of Manufacturing, Energy, and Communications Industries for EDS in Canada. Other major assignments at EDS included providing plant automation and engineering support to General Motors assembly and manufacturing. Prior to joining EDS, Mr. Hall was an industrial engineer with Digital Equipment Corporation. Mr. Hall has a Master's of Business Administration from the University of Detroit. His undergraduate work earned him a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Lowell.
