Autocam Honored as 1997 GM Supplier of the YearKENTWOOD, Mich., June 12 -- Kentwood, Michigan-based Autocam Corporation today announced that it will receive General Motors' 1997 Supplier of the Year Award in a ceremony at its Kentwood headquarters on June 16. "Autocam Corporation is one of 182 suppliers recognized by GM as a Supplier of the Year. Autocam demonstrated throughout 1997 that it is among the 'Best of the Best' suppliers for precision metal machined components," stated Harold R. Kutner, GM's vice president for Worldwide Purchasing and North American Control & Logistics and host of an international awards program held recently in Mexico City. "Autocam is truly globally competitive and, by virtue of this reward, is recognized as a worldwide leader in product development, technology, manufacturing, continuous improvement, value and most importantly, quality," added Kutner. "We are very proud to have been recognized by an important customer again this year," President John C. Kennedy said. "Receiving this award acknowledges our years of committed service to General Motors' Delphi Automotive Systems unit. Our employees and suppliers are very proud of the contributions made to create this successful business relationship."
