Treadco Acquires Operating Assets of Bridgestone's Cobre Tire El Paso Location

    FORT SMITH, Ark., June 10 -- Treadco, Inc.
today announced the acquisition from Bridgestone/Firestone, Inc. of
substantially all the operating assets of its Cobre Tire location in El Paso,
Texas.
    Treadco retained select sales and service personnel along with Cobre's OTR
(off-the-road) service vehicles.  Treadco will relocate its current El Paso
operations to the new Cobre Tire facility located at 11459 Pellicano.
    Treadco is the nation's largest independent truck tire retreader and the
fourth largest commercial truck tire dealer with 56 locations in the southern
half of the United States.
