Automotive Paint Pump Agreement for RobotsDetroit Pump Will be Exclusive Distributor of Specialized Pumps DETROIT, June 10 -- Detroit Pump's International Group will announce an exclusive distribution agreement to provide Waukesha Cherry-Burrell's automotive paint metering pumps to FANUC Robotics North America. The announcement will be made Wednesday at the "Automotive Finishing '98," taking place on June 10-11, 1998, at Cobo Center, Detroit. The announcement will be made by Joe Schwab, president of Detroit Pump; Mike Cunningham, national sales manager for Waukesha Cherry-Burrell; and Rick Schneider, president of FANUC Robotics North America. Detroit Pump will provide Waukesha Cherry-Burrell pumps to FANUC Robotics for OEM automotive paint applications. These pumps will be mounted on FANUC P-Series robots to provide precise paint metering application. "This agreement ensures the highest quality paint application standards for today's demanding automotive applications," said Joe Schwab, president of Detroit Pump. "We are proud to join Waukesha Cherry-Burrell and FANUC Robotics North America in providing this advanced pump product," added Schwab. This is the second major distribution agreement for Detroit Pump's newly formed International Automotive Group. In January, the group announced an exclusive distribution agreement with three of the world's leading pump manufacturers to provide pumps to the North American automotive market. Detroit Pump established the automotive group to provide its customers with specialized pump application assistance and products. Detroit Pump & Mfg. Co., Inc., which was established in 1926, represents 40 of the world's leading fluid handling manufacturers and has over 2,500 pumps in stock. The company provides application support and process pump products for automotive, manufacturing, construction, water resources and municipal uses.
