Dana Corporation, Mack Trucks Announce Long-Term Axle AgreementTOLEDO, Ohio, June 9 -- Dana Corporation and Mack Trucks, Inc., today jointly announced a long-term supplier agreement. The agreement establishes Dana as the original equipment supplier of its Spicer(R) Eaton(R) brand drive and steer axles for all current and future versions of the Mack CH chassis, and any new on-highway, heavy-duty chassis produced during the life of the agreement. Mack will offer its own proprietary on- highway heavy-duty axles as an option, and other non-standard Spicer(R) Eaton(R) branded axles available to Mack customers will be positioned as "preferred supplier options." Specific terms of the agreement were not disclosed. "We are proud that Mack has selected Dana as their partner in this segment of the market," said Rick Clayton, vice president of Dana's Heavy Truck Components Group. "We will continue to provide Mack with axles that are consistent with the highest quality standards in the heavy-duty truck industry." The agreement is exclusive to Mack's Class 8, on-highway trucks. Mack proprietary axles will continue to be standard on the company's vocational market vehicles. Paul L. Vikner, Mack executive vice president - sales and marketing, said, "We will continue to invest in, and improve upon our products for this market segment. Mack vocational axles are the benchmark for all others. "In developing our sales, marketing, and service strategies for the heavy- duty truck marketplace, our priority has always been to offer our customers the very best product, and the most advanced technology available for their needs," Vikner added. "This relationship with Dana is an example of that commitment." Vikner said warranty coverage for the supplied axles remains among the industry's best -- three years or 300,000 miles for basic coverage, with an extended warranty available from Dana to purchasers of Mack vehicles with Spicer(R) Eaton(R) axles.
