National-Standard Announces Additional QS-9000 Registrations
    NILES, Mich., June 9 -- National-Standard Company
is pleased to announce the registration of two additional facilities to
QS-9000 / IS09002. The Company's wire drawing facility in Guelph, Ontario and
air bag filtration and wire cloth manufacturing facility in Clearfield, Utah
recently achieved registration. Seven of the Company's facilities have now
received registration to these quality standards. Three additional
National-Standard operations are scheduled for audits during the next five
months.
"We are very pleased that all of our wire manufacturing operations have
achieved this distinction," said M. B. Savitske, President and Chief Executive
Officer. "While registration to these standards is an important milestone and
recognizes our Corporate commitment to customer satisfaction, there is another
very important reason for operating to these standards. This system provides
the basis for our continuous improvement efforts and, when combined with our
constraint management activities, will allow us to achieve long-term,
sustainable improvement in product quality, delivery performance and economic
profit."
