Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group Names Jeffrey Higgs Executive Vice President

    TULSA, Okla., June 5 -- Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group, Inc.
today announced that Jeffrey B. Higgs has been elected Executive
Vice President, Corporate Planning, by the company's board of directors.  In
this new position, Higgs will be responsible for developing corporate
strategies, analyzing joint ventures and directing special projects.
    With extensive experience in the automobile industry, Higgs served over 25
years with the Chrysler Corporation in a variety of executive positions.  In
addition to directing Chrysler's corporate planning office where he was
responsible for joint ventures and mergers and acquisitions, he also served as
director of rental car operations, managing director for Chrysler in Tokyo,
Japan, and director of Mexico Planning and NAFTA Implementation.  Most
recently, Higgs was group controller for Enterprise Rent-A-Car of Eastern
Michigan and Northern Ohio.
    Higgs received a bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering from the
University of Missouri and an M.B.A. from Washington University, St. Louis,
Missouri.
    Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group owns Dollar Rent A Car and Thrifty Car
Rental.  The Dollar and Thrifty systems have worldwide locations in
approximately 900 corporate and franchised locations in the United States and
Canada.  The companies provide car rental services primarily to value-
conscious discretionary and leisure travelers.  Dollar has on-airport
locations at major airports throughout the United States with a focus on
serving the leisure and international tour business.  Thrifty serves both the
airport and local car rental markets and is a leading lessor of rental
vehicles to car rental franchisees in North America.
