Dodge Teams With Harley-Davidson to Benefit MDAAUBURN HILLS, Mich., June 4 -- It's not every day that the brand with some of the most distinctive trucks, cars and minivans -- Dodge -- teams up with the world's best-known motorcycle manufacturer. But when the brands join efforts at Harley-Davidson's 95th Anniversary party, the real winner is the Muscular Dystrophy Association. The Chrysler Corporation's Dodge Division is the Official Truck and Ride Route Sponsor for Harley-Davidson's 95th Anniversary celebration. As a major sponsor, Dodge will become the first automotive brand to formally benefit the MDA. In this, its first year of involvement, Dodge Division's total projected involvement with the Muscular Dystrophy Association and Harley-Davidson's 95th Anniversary is expected to reach $500,000. Harley-Davidson and its 95th Anniversary sponsors intend to raise $1.5 million in total contributions to MDA. Dodge has taken on a number of creative fundraising programs: Dodge/H-D dealer tie-ins; Viper track rides at the Milwaukee Mile; sales of a poster featuring Chrysler Harley-Davidson owners and their motorcycles; slot-car races; and a raffle to win a new Dodge Ram. Dodge custom-prepared the Ram to match Harley-Davidson's 95th Anniversary paint designs, and will raffle it, along with a matching trailer and 95th Anniversary Harley-Davidson Sportster Custom, to benefit the MDA. A second Flame Red Ram will be presented to country singing star Tim McGraw at the Dodge country music stage at Harley-Davidson's 95th Reunion. Also as part of its overall MDA involvement, Dodge will present Jerry Lewis with a check during his annual Labor Day telethon (Sept. 6-7). A short video will also be shown to greater illustrate the level of Dodge's participation. The Chrysler Corporation's Dodge Division is the Official Truck and Ride Route Sponsor for Harley-Davidson's 95th Anniversary celebration. Dodge is partnering with Harley-Davidson dealers to set up "pit stops" along the routes of each of the five rides. At these "pit stops," riders will have the opportunity to rest, eat and service their motorcycles. In addition, Dodge will provide a total of 60 trucks and vans to serve as support vehicles along the five Ride routes, and at the Rally and Reunion in Milwaukee. Dodge will also sponsor a sweepstakes for a motorcycle and other joint-logoed merchandise.
