New President and CEO Named at Hendrickson

    WOODRIDGE, Ill., June 4 -- Hendrickson International, a
worldwide manufacturer of heavy-duty truck, tractor, and trailer suspension
systems and components, named Mark D. Schwabero President and Chief Executive
Officer effective July 1, 1998.  He succeeds William G. Petrie who has retired
from the company after 19 years of service.
    Mr. Schwabero was President, Automotive Products, North America for
Pilkington Libbey Owens Ford Company.  Former positions also include
President, Braking Systems - Americas for AlliedSignal and Group Vice
President - Truck Business for Navistar International Corporation.  He earned
both his Bachelor of Science and his Master of Science degrees in engineering
from Ohio State University, and resides in the Chicago area with his wife and
two children.
