Grease Monkey Holding Corporation Examines Alternatives For Maximizing Shareholder Value

    DENVER, June 4 -- Grease Monkey Holding Corporation
today announced that the Board of Directors has authorized the
Company, in connection with its efforts to examine alternatives for maximizing
shareholder value, to engage Green Manning & Bunch Securities, Inc. to assist
the Company in developing such alternatives, which will include seeking
potential purchasers of the Company.  The Company will not provide further
comment at this time.
    Grease Monkey International, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of the
Company, is one of the nation's largest franchisors of fast lube and oil
change centers.  With 210 centers in the United States and Mexico, of which 32
are company owned, Grease Monkey is one of the largest fast lube and oil
change companies.  In Colorado, there are 54 Grease Monkey centers, of which
20 are company owned.
