Porsche U.S. Sales up Twenty-Three Percent Through May 1998

       Sales Reflect a Seventy-One Percent Gain in Boxster and First Full
                  Month of Sales for 1999 911 Carrera

    ATLANTA, June 2 -- Porsche Cars North America, importer and
distributor of Porsche sports cars in the United States, today announced sales
and stock figures for the month of May 1998.  Figures reflect a 71% increase
in sales for the Boxster, the model runout of the 1998 911 Carrera, and the
first full-month introduction of the 1999 911 Carrera.  The result contributes
to a 23% sales increase for the 1998 calendar year to date.
