Kia Sales Continue To Bloom

    IRVINE, Calif., June 2 -- Kia Motors America today announced
record sales of 6,301 vehicles for the month of May.  This figure represents
the highest May sales since the company began selling cars in February 1994.
    May sales represent the continuing trend of steady sales growth observed
by Kia for the past year, as reflected by Kia's year-to-date sales nearly
doubling those of last year.
    Kia is in the midst of its market-by-market roll-out, which will culminate
in a national dealer network by the end of 1998.  Kia now has more than 400
dealerships in 40 states.
