Auto-trol Technology Strengthens Position in Automotive Market with Major PDM Sale to Calsonic North America, Inc.
CENTRA 2000(TM)'s ability to securely manage multiple
CAD formats cited as key selection criteria

    DENVER, June 1 -- Auto-trol Technology Corporation
(OTC Bulletin Board: ATTC) today announced a new order for its CENTRA 2000
Product Data Management (PDM) system to Calsonic North America, Inc. Calsonic
is a global tier one automotive supplier with corporate offices in Farmington
Hills, MI, and manufacturing sites in Shelbyville, TN and Irvine, CA.
Calsonic specializes in designing and manufacturing integrated automotive
systems that include climate control, exhaust, and heat exchange systems and
components.
Calsonic will implement CENTRA 2000 at all three sites and will initially
focus on electronic vaulting in a heavy mixed CAD environment. Calsonic North
America operates in a heterogeneous environment that includes seven different
CAD applications with clients for Windows and Unix. Future phases of the
implementation will include Workflow and MRP integration.
"We purchased CENTRA 2000 to manage our data more efficiently," said
Dwight Smith of Calsonic North America. "By managing our data efficiently we
can provide better service to our customers with faster response time, while
providing assurance that proprietary information is maintained in a secure
environment."
Smith continues, "We were looking for an 'out of the box' vaulting
solution that could handle our diverse CAD application environment.
After reviewing proposals from several PDM vendors we decided that Auto-trol
had the best fit for our need. As a final test we conducted a proof of
concept study at our corporate offices in Farmington Hills, MI. From this
study we concluded that Auto-trol's CENTRA 2000 could provide the solution we
were looking for, and do it out of the box."
