Standard Products' Stratford, Ontario, Plant Receives Gold Pentastar Award From Chrysler
    DEARBORN, Mich., May 28 -- Standard Products (Canada)
Limited, a subsidiary of The Standard Products Company , announced
today that its rubber seals and trim plant in Stratford, Ontario, has been
awarded Chrysler Corporation's Gold Pentastar Award.  Standard
Products received the award for overall performance excellence during model
year 1997.
    The Stratford division manufactures windshield seals for Chrysler's LH
model, as well as door seals, hood seals, windshield molding, trunk lid seals,
quarter window trim molding and glass run channel assemblies for other North
American vehicle manufacturers.
    "Congratulations on the quality, delivery and performance that generated
the results for this Gold Pentastar Award," said Nance Taylor, a supplier
quality specialist from Chrysler who presented the award.
    Standard Products manufactures sealing, trim and vibration control systems
for the automotive original equipment industry in North and South America and
Europe.  Its Holm Industries subsidiary produces seals for residential and
commercial appliances, doors and windows.  Its Oliver Rubber subsidiary
manufactures tread rubber and equipment for the retread industry.  Information
