Johnson Controls Declares Cash Dividend

    MILWAUKEE, May 20 -- The Board of Directors of Johnson
Controls, Inc. (JCI) today declared a regular quarterly cash
dividend of $0.23 per common share.  The dividend is payable June 30, 1998 to
shareholders of record June 12, 1998.
    Johnson Controls has paid consecutive dividends since 1885.
    Johnson Controls, Inc., with headquarters in Milwaukee, Wis., is a global

Automotive Systems Group, it supplies seating systems, interior systems and
