MSX International to Showcase Remote Access Virtual Engineering At Cobo Auto Expo, May 19-21AUBURN HILLS, Mich., May 14 -- As a growing number of manufacturers look to outside experts for engineering and development support, their need to easily assess a project's status becomes very important. MSX International has developed a state-of-the-art virtual service that can quickly put vital project information at clients' fingertips from anywhere in the world, any time of day. MSX International will preview Remote Access Virtual Engineering at the Automotive and Transportation Interior Expo at Detroit's Cobo Conference/Exhibition Center, May 19-21. With Remote Access Virtual Engineering, an engineering design analyst can keep clients up-to-speed on MSX engineering and development projects by providing validation services and creating a special client page on the MSX web site offering such information as: * CAD data in PC viewing format; * design deviation reports; * program documentation; * design review results; * program timing data; * cost, invoice and time keeping information; * animations, photographs and video; and * a daily job log. "We want to make it easier for our customers to work with our company," said MSX Engineering Technology Director David E. Luik. "Remote Access Virtual Engineering will allow our clients to interface with us much more cost-effectively and efficiently than conventional methods. Among other things, it will cut down on expensive travel costs for project update meetings and will allow our global customers to check on their projects regardless of time zone differences. "We believe Remote Access Virtual Engineering is the logical next step in customer service. Now that we have this technology, we're assessing the marketplace's response and desire for it. We're looking for a handful of customers to test -- and help us alter -- the system so that the final technology is as user-friendly as possible." Remote Access Virtual Engineering can help assure all project team members work with the most accurate data. It enables customers to remain fully involved in outsourced projects from start to finish and to make sure all components fit and work property before prototype, tooling and build. Show attendees visiting the MSX booth can explore the system's offerings from the comfort of a specialty equipped "web cruiser" connected to a computer monitor. With just a few clicks of the mouse, visitors accessing a hypothetical MSX client web page can review: * the system's security features; * current project data; * two-dimensional part fit images; * a series of three-dimensional virtual components; and * the most recent design review presentation. Remote Access Virtual Engineering will be available to MSX engineering and development clients as a value-added service. Basic information access will be offered at no additional charge, with additional fees based on the number of advanced features customers request. With test marketing underway, MSX could roll out Remote Access Virtual Engineering within the next few months. The MSX International exhibit (Booth #232) at the Automotive and Transportation Interior Expo will feature video presentations, displays and literature about many of the corporation's diverse services.
