Conyers Receives National Auto Award for Excellence

    DETROIT, May 14 -- Nathan G. Conyers, President of
Conyers-Riverside Ford was recognized by Ford Motor Company with the coveted
North American Customer Excellence Award.  The award was presented during a
special ceremony on Wednesday, May 13, 1998 in Phoenix, Arizona.
    The award is given to a very select group of 100 dealerships, selected
from the more than 5,000 dealerships, nationwide, in recognition for
excellence to their customer base.  "It is an honor that our commitment to our
customers is duly noted," said Conyers.  "At Riverside Ford, the customers and
their satisfaction are always first."
    Riverside Ford is the only African-American owned Ford Dealership within
the City of Detroit and the oldest, at more than 28 years, such dealership in
the country.
    Conyers and his dealership have received international recognition, from
as far away as Sweden, for longevity and success in a sometimes volatile
industry.  Most recently, Conyers was recognized as 'Dealership of the Year'
by Black Enterprise magazine, and was cited by BE as a 'Marathon Man' for his
extensive and successful career.
