Lucas Body Systems Displays New Generation Proprietary Actuators, New Technologies

    TROY, Mich., May 14 -- Lucas Body Systems, a business of
LucasVarity's Electrical and Electronic Systems Division, will feature next
generation proprietary actuators and a broad range of capabilities next week
at the Automotive & Transportation Interiors Expo, Detriot, Mich.,  May 19-21,
1998.  Lucas Body Systems will be located at Booth No. 751.
    Lucas Body Systems will introduce a new line of proprietary actuators,
consisting of a 2-wire pulse generating actuator and a 3-wire smart actuator.
The 2-wire pulse count actuator is a new generation design with reduced cost,
size and noise levels, fewer components and many other features.  The 3-wire
smart actuator has an internal integrated circuit that allows for an
electronic feel in a traditional mechanical system, package reduction, reduced
part count and minimal investment.
    The Company will also highlight additional innovative technologies such as
a new Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning (HVAC) design protocol that
slashes climate control system development time from an average of 18 months
to less than one month.  Lucas Body Systems will showcase its new rain sensor
technology with the smallest available rain sensor package on the market.
Products on display include:  rain sensor, HVAC controls, panel controls,
transmission switches, column controls and actuators.
