Mitsubishi Presents 1998 Supplier Awards

1998 Supplier Awards Presented at Mitsubishi Motor Manufacturing of America and Mitsubishi Motors Corporation Joint North American Supplier Day

    NORMAL, Ill., May 14 -- Mitsubishi Motor Manufacturing of
America, Inc., (MMMA) and its parent company Mitsubishi Motors Corporation
(MMC), announced today the names of 22 North American suppliers honored for
outstanding performance.  Award winners excelled in each of three evaluation
categories of quality of parts and materials, timely deliveries, and
competitive value.

    Nearly 500 MMMA and MMC supplier representatives from over 240 North
American companies attended today's conference held at Illinois State
University.  Conference speakers included:  Mr. Michio Yamashita, Chairman and
CEO, MMMA, Mr. Laurence T. Greene, EVP Procurement & Supply and Government
Affairs, MMMA and Mr. Y. Kondo, Director & Corporate General Manager,
International Procurement, MMC.
    Mitsubishi Motor Manufacturing of America, Inc., a subsidiary of
Mitsubishi Motors Corporation, manufactures the Mitsubishi Eclipse, Eclipse
Spyder convertible and Galant, and the Dodge Avenger and Chrysler Sebring.

    For Central Illinois Media
    Bundy-Normal, a division of Bundy North America, received the "Business
Membership" award from Mitsubishi Motor Manufacturing of America, Inc., (MMMA)
at the 1998 Supplier Awards Program May 14, 1998 in recognition of Bundy's
support of MMMA's Supplier Diversity Program.  The award was accepted by Jim
Davis, President, Bundy Corporation and Doug Hitchon, Normal Plant Manager.

    Winners of the 1997 MMMA Quality Circle Plant-Wide Presentation who went
on to win the Association for Quality and Participation Region 6 Award,
presented at Supplier Day.  Steve Vincent and Matt McClure of Mackinaw, John
Jeffers of Morton and Sherry Skinner of Gridley represented the "Holestoppers"
Quality Circle Team.  Their presentation was "Eliminating Holes in Headliners
During Assist Grip Installation."
