Smith Company Motor Cars Hosts Special Event

    CHARLESTON, W.Va., May 13 -- Smith Company Motor Cars/VOLVO,
South Charleston, West Virginia is having a special celebration for the public
on Friday and Saturday, May 15-16.  In recognition of the Certified Retailer
award by J.D. Power & Associates, VOLVO is offering an unprecedented sale and
will have extended hours.
    This Friday and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., the dealership welcomes the
public to preview specially marked cars for non-negotiable rates.
    Certified Retailer status indicates that J.D. Power and Associates has
surveyed customers to ensure Smith Company Motor Cars' commitment to providing
high levels of satisfaction with the new car purchase experience.  As an
independent third party, J.D. Power and Associates conducts a random sampling
of a dealership's recent new car buyers.
    In the case of VOLVO, 59 dealerships that had consistently scored high in
customer service were surveyed.  Upon successfully meeting stringent benchmark
qualifying criteria, the dealership is given the Certified Retailer
designation for one year.  Smith Company Motor Cars was the only West Virginia
dealership to receive such a distinction.  Throughout the year the dealership
is monitored by J.D. Power and Associates to ensure that those levels are
maintained.
