GNB Technologies to Supply New Products to Advance Auto Parts Battery Manufacturer Expands Presence with Retailer

    ATLANTA, May 8 -- Atlanta-based GNB Technologies will begin
supplying an expanded marine and specialty battery line to Advance Auto Parts
stores nationwide.  More than 330 Advance Auto Parts stores will carry the
Stowaway(TM) 850 and the new Stowaway Tournament(TM) dual-purpose marine
batteries.  All outlets also will sell specialty Champion(R) motorcycle
batteries that fit ATVs, personal watercraft, snowmobiles and riding
lawnmowers.
    "With more than 800 Advance Auto Parts stores across the country, GNB
anticipates strong expansion and increased market share in its marine and
specialty battery replacement market," said Mike O'Malley, Director of Sales,
Central Zone.  "Expanding our product line builds upon our already strong
relationship with Advance."
    GNB has supplied automotive and specialty batteries to Advance Auto Parts
for more than ten years.
    The new GNB batteries will be available in Advance Auto Parts stores
beginning in May 1998.
