Best-Ever April Sales Reported By Toyota's Chicago Region
CHICAGO, May 7 -- Toyota's Chicago Region posted record car
sales in April of 5,675 vehicles, a 15 percent increase over April 1997, when
4,917 were sold.
"Strong performance by our North American-built Corollas, Camrys and
Avalons, as well as the Toyota Land Cruiser and RAV4 sports utility vehicles,
all contributed to a record setting sales month," said Dave Camden, general
manager of the Chicago Region.
"The newly-designed Land Cruiser had an impressive 66 percent increase
from last year," Camden said. "Toyota Corolla, Avalon and RAV4 had sales
gains of 33, 12 and 11 percent, respectively."
The Toyota Chicago Region includes 114 dealers in Illinois, Indiana,
Minnesota and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
