Best-Ever April Sales Reported by Toyota's Kansas City Region

    KANSAS CITY, Mo., May 6 -- Toyota's Kansas City Region posted
record car sales in April.
    New car sales at 74 Toyota dealers in Iowa, Kansas, South and North
Dakota, Missouri and Nebraska totaled 2,186, a 20 percent increase over last
year's 1,824 sales.
    "Strong performance by our North American-built Camrys, Corollas, Avalons
and Siennas, as well as the Toyota Land Cruiser and RAV4 sports utility
vehicles, all contributed to a record setting sales month," said Bruce
Ertmann, general manager of the Kansas City Region.
    "The Corolla had an impressive 82 percent increase from last year,"
Ertmann said. "Toyota Land Cruiser, Avalon and RAV4 had sales gains of 50, 17
and 13 percent, respectively."
