General Motors Names Cincinnati Milacron Supplier of the Year for Fifth Straight Year

CINCINNATI, May 5 -- Cincinnati Milacron Inc.
General Motors has recognized Cincinnati Milacron as Supplier of
the Year for 1997. This is the fifth straight year Milacron's Cimcool
metalworking-fluid division has won the award for chemical management.
Cincinnati Milacron was one of 182 supplier companies to receive the award for
1997, and one of 20 to receive the award five years running.
GM honored the supplier companies at award ceremonies held on April 9,
1998 in Mexico City.
"Cincinnati Milacron demonstrated throughout 1997 that they are among the
'Best of the Best' suppliers for chemical management," stated Harold R.
Kutner, GM's vice president for Worldwide Purchasing and North American
Production Control & Logistics and host of the awards program.
"Cincinnati Milacron is truly globally competitive, and by virtue of this
award, is recognized as a worldwide leader in product development, technology,
manufacturing, continuous improvement, value and most importantly, quality,"
added Kutner.
Those receiving the award were selected from a GM supplier base of more
than 30,000 companies. The winners were selected by teams of purchasing,
quality, engineering and manufacturing experts from GM operations around the
world. They reviewed supplier performance in quality, service and price
during the 1997 calendar year.
Cincinnati Milacron, with 1997 sales of $1.9 billion, is a leading global
supplier to the metalworking and plastics-processing industries. Products and
related services include plastics machinery, mold bases and related
components, machine tools, composites processing systems, metalcutting inserts
and round tools, metalworking fluids, grinding wheels, carbide wear parts and
industrial magnets. Founded in 1884, the company employs 13,000 people in 30
major plants worldwide. Its shares are traded on the New York Stock Exchange
under the symbol CMZ.
