AutoZone Finalizes Acquisition Of TruckProMEMPHIS, Tenn., May 1 -- AutoZone Inc. , has finalized its acquisition of TruckPro, John C. Adams Jr., chairman and CEO of AutoZone, announced today. "There are some very impressive people at TruckPro and we look forward to working with them to take this business to a new level," Mr. Adams said. "Our buying power and systems expertise combined with their experience will give the heavy-duty truck parts customers the best of both companies." The management team will stay in place, with Dale Dawson remaining as TruckPro's chairman and CEO. Mick Baird, formerly vice president of stores at AutoZone, will be president and COO of TruckPro. Freddie Sproles, formerly district manager at AutoZone, will be senior vice president of stores at TruckPro. And Bud Wachenschwanz, formerly director of merchandising at AutoZone, will be senior vice president of development at TruckPro. AutoZone sells auto and light truck parts, chemicals and accessories through 1,936 stores in 38 states. AutoZone also sells heavy-duty truck parts through 43 TruckPro stores in 14 states and automotive diagnostic and repair software through ALLDATA.
