Nissan Division Reports April Sales
CARSON, Calif., May 1 -- The Nissan Division of Nissan Motor
Corporation U.S.A. (NMC) reported total sales of 35,023 units, down 26.4
percent versus last year.
Sales for the Altima totaled 9,730 units. Maxima turned in sales of 7,439
units, and Sentra posted sales of 6,192 units. April sedan sales totaled
23,361 units.
Truck, including Frontier, had sales of 4,856 units. Pathfinder and Quest
recorded sales of 3,541 and 1,821 units, respectively, bringing combined truck
sales to 10,218 units for the month.
Combined sales for Nissan and Infiniti Divisions for April totaled 38,888
units. Infiniti Division was up 4.1 percent versus last year. Sales of
Nissan's North American-produced vehicles accounted for 68.1 percent of April
sales. Calendar year-to-date sales totaled 160,853 units, versus 240,458
units in 1997.

division, markets and distributes Nissan and Infiniti vehicles in the United
States to more than 1,200 dealers.
