Springfield Hyundai Awards Car to University of Pennsylvania StudentFOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., and SPRINGFIELD, Penn., April 28 -- Today's college student not only has to worry about rising tuition but also the cost of transportation. Elizabeth Beidler, a University of Pennsylvania student, no longer has the transportation problem. She entered her name into a sweepstakes for a brand new Hyundai Tiburon and found herself driving away a winner. She was one of many students at the university who attended the ASA/Details "Hooked-Up" college tour where Hyundai Motor America was a major sponsor. Springfield Hyundai in Springfield, Pennsylvania awarded Elizabeth her sporty black Hyundai Tiburon on March 18, 1998. "College students are important consumers for Hyundai," said Mike Croce, Sales Manager at Springfield Hyundai. "We were thrilled to deliver the Tiburon to Elizabeth." The Aggressive Skating Association (ASA) and Details Magazine created an exciting one day event on the college campus which enabled students to see professional in-line skating shows and receive premiums and products from the event sponsors. Besides the opportunity to win a car, Hyundai offered test drives and held a "Slap Shot Hockey Challenge" for additional prizes. For the students, this event geared to their interest, proved to be a perfect break from the everyday college routine, and at the same time gave them a chance to see Hyundai as a "cool" car company. Hyundai Motor America, based in Fountain Valley, Calif., is a subsidiary of Hyundai Motor Company of Korea. Hyundai cars are distributed in the United States by Hyundai Motor America and are sold and serviced through nearly 500 dealerships nationwide. SOURCE Hyundai Motor America
