Magna International Wins 3 GM Supplier-of-the-Year Awards

Magna International Inc. Groups Win Three GM Supplier-of-the-Year AwardsAURORA, Ontario, April 27 -- Magna International Inc. extended its winning streak to five consecutive years in which the company has been honored by General Motors as either a Supplier-of- the-Year or Corporation-of-the-Year. The 1997 awards were announced in Mexico City by GM and include the following three Magna Supplier-of-the-Year honors: * Magna International's Cosma Body & Chassis Group was honored as a Supplier-of-the-Year for body & chassis systems, modules & components. * Magna International's Versatrim division of Magna Interior Systems Group was recognized as a Supplier-of-the-Year for interior door panels, instrument panels, headliners, consoles and package trays. * Magna International's Interior Systems Group in the United Kingdom was honored as a Supplier-of-the-Year for world instrument panels. * In addition, Conix Corporation, a joint venture between Ford Motor Company and Magna, was also named Supplier-of-the-Year for the fourth time, for fascia systems. General Motors Worldwide Purchasing selected just 182 supplier companies for the 1997 awards from its global supplier base of more than 30,000 companies. This is the sixth year for GM's program that recognizes supplier companies worldwide who exceed specific performance standards in the areas of quality, service and price. The award winners represent 25 countries.
