Delco Remy International, Inc., Subsidiary Receives GM Supplier of the Year Award for 1997ANDERSON, Ind., April 27 -- A subsidiary of Delco Remy International, Inc., , Delco Remy America, has been awarded the General Motors Supplier of the Year Award for its second consecutive year. Richard Stanley, senior vice president & general manager of the Automotive Systems Division, accepted the award last weekend during ceremonies in Mexico City, Mexico. The Delco Remy International, Inc., subsidiary was chosen for the honor from a GM supplier base of over 30,000 firms. "This prestigious award recognizes our team achievements for providing long-term customer value," noted Hal Sperlich, chairman of Delco Remy International, Inc. Teams of purchasing, quality, engineering and manufacturing people from GM Operations around the world selected the recipients after reviewing supplier performance in quality, service and price during the 1997 calendar year. "Delco Remy America is one of 182 suppliers recognized by GM as a Supplier of the Year. DRA has demonstrated throughout 1997 that it's among the 'Best of the Best' suppliers for its automotive components," stated Harold R. Kutner, GM's vice president for Worldwide Purchasing and North American Production Control & Logistics and host of the awards program.
