Tachi-S Engineering U.S.A. Inc. Moves Into New North American Headquarters

    FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich., April 27 -- Farmington Hills based
Tachi-S Engineering U.S.A Inc., a supplier of automotive seating, begins their
first day of business today in their new North American headquarters.  The
37,000 square foot facility will be occupied by design, engineering,
prototype, testing, and administrative departments.
    "It took 10 years to do it but we simply outgrew our old facility," said
Mike Vokal, Vice President and Treasurer of Tachi-S Engineering.  "Actually we
were occupying two buildings and this new facility will bring all departments
back into one building with an overall increase in space of 30%.  The site of
the new building is located in the same industrial park that Tachi-S
Engineering has been in for the last 10 years.  We were very fortunate there
was a piece of land available in this same park, we are literally around the
corner from our old location."
    "This move will benefit both customers and employees," stated Masahiko
Enami, President of Tachi-S Engineering.  "We've added some things to this
facility that we didn't have in the old one.  We will be able to communicate
to customers via state of the art video conferencing technologies and every
employee with a computer will have Internet access and an E-mail address for
quicker more efficient contact with customers and suppliers.  Employees will
also benefit from new ergonomically designed work stations and chairs,
technologically advanced meeting and presentation rooms, updated computer
systems, and an employees exercise and fitness room."
    Tachi-S Engineering currently supplies design, engineering, prototype, and
testing services for automotive seating systems to OEM's and Tier 1 suppliers.
Tachi-S Engineering is also a partner in supporting three separate joint
ventures;  Setex -- Tier 1 seat supplier to Honda of America Mfg., Hyperion --
Tier 1 seat suppler to Saturn, and TechnoTrim -- Tier 2 supplier of cut and
sewn trim covers to numerous Tier 1 suppliers.
