Federal-Mogul Wins Prestigious Award From Toyota For Excellent Delivery PerformanceSOUTHFIELD, Mich., April 24 -- Federal-Mogul Corporation has earned an Excellent Delivery Performance Award and six Certificates of Achievement from Toyota Motor Manufacturing North America, Inc. (TMMNA). The Excellent Delivery Performance Award was awarded to the Greenville, Michigan manufacturing location. "Our Greenville facility has maintained a goal of 100 percent on-time shipments set by Toyota for the fourth consecutive year," said Mike Verwilst, vice president, Powertrain Systems - Americas. "We are extremely proud of this team's outstanding commitment in meeting the strict standards set by Toyota, which are quite possibly the toughest in the industry." Awards are given annually to suppliers providing the highest standards in quality, delivery, value improvement and cost reduction for parts, materials, transportation and export. The awards were presented during TMMNA's annual Supplier Business Meeting and Awards Ceremony. "Toyota's North American suppliers have helped Toyota provide an on-going tradition of quality, American-built cars, trucks and mini-vans," said Noriyuki Yokouchi, vice president of purchasing for TMMNA. "These suppliers maintain and often exceed our strict standards for quality." The Greenville facility, which was also awarded a Certificate of Achievement for quality, manufactures automotive and heavy-duty engine bearings for both original equipment and aftermarket customers. Manitowoc, Wisconsin, which received a Certificate of Achievement for quality and one for delivery, manufactures piston rings for both the automotive and heavy-duty diesel engine markets. Three Certificates of Achievement went to the Skokie, Illinois, location, which manufacturers a broad line of gaskets for the automotive and heavy-duty vehicle aftermarket and the original equipment market. Their achievements were for value improvement, quality and delivery.
