Budget Group Receives Early Termination of Hart-Scott-Rodino Waiting Period For Planned Ryder TRS AcquisitionDAYTONA BEACH, Fla., April 23 -- Budget Group, Inc. announced today that the Federal Trade Commission has granted early termination of the 30-day waiting period under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Act in connection with Budget Group's pending merger agreement with Questor Partners Fund to purchase Ryder TRS, Inc. Budget Group, Inc., through subsidiary companies and their franchisees, operates Budget Car and Truck Rental, the third largest worldwide car and truck rental system. Ryder TRS is the nation's second-largest consumer truck rental company. The transaction already has Ryder TRS shareholder approval and the approval of the Budget Group board of directors. No further board or shareholder approvals are required. Closing is expected to occur later in the second quarter of 1998 following a vote to increase the number of authorized Class A common shares.
