Budget Perfect Drive Awards Program is First to the Green-- Nearly 50,000 Customers Sign up in First Days of Program -- LISLE, Ill., April 22 -- Golf is hot and so is Budget's Perfect Drive program. Since April 1, when Budget first launched its new frequent renter rewards program, Perfect Drive, nearly 50,000 customers have signed up to earn free car and truck rentals and merchandise from Callaway Golf, the nation's premier golf equipment manufacturer. "The response has been phenomenal. Customers love the opportunity to earn points toward a full set of Callaway Golf clubs," said Sandy Miller, chairman and CEO of Budget Group, Inc. Budget created this premier golf award program based on consumer research that shows frequent renters are avid golfers and desire top-of-the-line golf equipment and golf accessories. So Budget is giving its customers the full spectrum of golf essentials from the coveted Callaway Golf collection -- from the Bobby Jones(R) line of putters, Biggest Big Bertha(TM) drivers and the all-new Big Bertha(R) X-12(TM) Irons to golf bags, hats and other golf accessories. As an introductory offer to its nearly one month old awards program, when Budget customers join the club, they get the club -- the Bobby Jones BJ-2(TM) putter, after just five rentals and a minimum of 300 points. "Arnold Palmer may have played in more Masters Tournaments, but Bobby Jones actually started it. That's why we went for the first and the best, Bobby Jones and Callaway Golf," said Sandy Miller. "We're not surprised that the number one car rental company is scrambling to attempt to mirror our program -- though, not exactly." Perfect Drive is a fully-automated, revenue-based program, which awards members with one point for every dollar they spend at Budget, including standard rental charges, fuel purchase options, optional insurance packages, waivers and taxes, etc. Budget customers can choose to earn miles in the many frequent flyer programs in which Budget participates worldwide or earn Perfect Drive Points. Customers can earn Perfect Drive points at over 600 U.S. airport and local market locations. Beginning in June, Budget locations throughout Canada also will award Perfect Drive points. Beginning next month, customers can earn Perfect Drive points when they rent a recreational vehicle or motorcycle from Cruise America, North America's leading RV rental and sales company, owned by Budget Group. Since 1992, Budget has been the official car and truck rental company of the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA). Budget also is the presenting sponsor of the Mercury Titleholders Championship, April 30 - May 3, at LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Florida. Budget Rent a Car Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Budget Group, Inc. , is one of the world's top three car and truck rental systems.
