Detroit Auto Dealers Unveil Virtual Used Car 'Cyberlot'

DETROIT, April 21 -- The Detroit Auto Dealers Association
(DADA) today unveiled the largest local Internet database of used vehicles in
Southeastern Michigan. After two years of development - http://www.dadacars.com -
which is being billed as "a brand new way to shop for a used car," was
introduced by the DADA, the owners of the North American International Auto
Show.
"This may be the most efficient method to comparison shop for a used
vehicle ever," said DADA President Russ Shelton, owner of Shelton
Pontiac-Buick, Rochester Hills. "Our Internet site allows shoppers from all
over Metropolitan Detroit to surf the lots of every participating dealer and
immediately compare specific vehicles and prices, without leaving the comfort
and privacy of their own homes."
Shelton said dadacars.com was developed by a DADA committee because it
realized the Internet had turned into a viable and efficient method for auto
dealers to reach consumers. He said site visitors can search for a vehicle
based on eight criteria: make, model, price range, year, mileage, category,
and choice of dealership. A service offered to DADA members, dadacars.com is
advertising- and clutter-free, providing Internet shoppers a smooth and easy
way to navigate the site and shop for a dependable used vehicle.
Another of its many "bells & whistles," said Shelton, is a program
developed to calculate loan schedules and financing. Step-by-step, the
program will determine approximate loan payments based on loan amount,
interest rate, and length of loan or the loan amount based on a desired
monthly payment, interest rate and length of loan.
Finally, dadacars.com will conduct a local area search for dealer
inventories via zip code -- and provide direct links to all major automobile
manufacturers for information on new vehicles. The site also provides links
to participating dealerships for business information, contact names, store
hours, etc.
Dadacars.com is an exclusive Internet service of the DADA. Designed
specifically for the DADA, its members and their customers, participation is
available only to members of the Detroit Auto Dealers Association.
