Federal-Mogul Announces Organizational Structure for Powertrain Systems - Americas, Heavy Duty

    SOUTHFIELD, Mich., April 9 -- David Krohn, vice president,
Powertrain Systems - Americas, Heavy Duty, Federal-Mogul Corporation
announces the organizational structure for Powertrain Systems -
Americas, Heavy Duty with the following appointments:

     --   Dennis Bernard, plant manager, Greenville, Michigan
     --   Dave Carlisle, controller, heavy duty
     --   Joyce Duell, marketing manager
     --   Claude Epperson, systems manager, Powertrain Systems - Americas
     --   Ed Fain, operations manager - pistons/liners
     --   Bob Fesser, director of sales and engineering
     --   Darcio Giovanetti, operations manager - pistons
     --   Homi Jijina, manufacturing technology manager
     --   Morrie Ribble, operations manager - rings
     --   Keri Westbrooke, director of product technology

    "This new market-focused organization will build on our strengths as we
pursue significant growth opportunities with our complete product offering,"
said Krohn.  "The product portfolio will include bearings, pistons, piston
pins, rings, liners and cylinder systems."

    Dennis Bernard, Plant Manager, Greenville, Michigan
    Dennis Bernard, plant manager, Greenville, Michigan, will continue to have
responsibility for the engine bearing business at the Greenville manufacturing
facility.
    Bernard began his career with Federal-Mogul as an engineering manager with
the Mooresville, Indiana, facility in 1973.  Since that time he has progressed
through a variety of manufacturing management positions.  He has held
positions at Greenville, Michigan; St. Johns, Michigan; Van Wert, Ohio and
Malden, Missouri before returning to Greenville in his current role.
    Bernard earned a Bachelor of Science degree in industrial engineering from
North Dakota University.

    Dave Carlisle, Controller, Heavy Duty
    Dave Carlisle has been appointed controller, heavy duty.
    Carlisle's responsibilities include the financial functions for the
Powertrain Systems - Americas, Heavy Duty.
    Carlisle was the ring group controller for AE Goetze - North America prior
to joining Federal-Mogul.  He previously held various financial positions with
Giddings & Lewis, EESCO Englewood, TI Group Abar Ispen and Barness Drill Co.
    Carlisle earned a Bachelor of Science degree in accountancy from Northern
Illinois University.

    Joyce Duell, Marketing Manager
    Joyce Duell has been appointed marketing manager.  Duell's
responsibilities include forecasting, market and competitor analysis as well
as business planning and strategic planning for the heavy duty, automotive,
and small engine/industrial market segments.
    Prior to her appointment with Federal-Mogul, Duell was the marketing and
planning supervisor for AE Goetze - North America.  She started with T&N in
1991.
    She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University
of Michigan.

    Claude Epperson, Systems Manager
    Claude Epperson has been appointed systems manager.
    Epperson's responsibilities include direction and implementation of
Management Information Systems strategy as well as analysis and improvement of
business processes for heavy duty and automotive.
    Prior to this appointment with Federal-Mogul, Epperson was the group
information technology manager for T&N - North America.  Epperson's previous
T&N responsibilities include group purchasing manager and internal audit
manager.  He started with T&N in 1988.  Prior to this he was an audit manager
for KPMG Peat Marwick.
    Epperson earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration
from Bucknell University.  He is a Certified Public Accountant.

    Ed Fain, Operations Manager - Pistons/Liners
    Ed Fain has been appointed operations manager - pistons/liners.  Fain's
responsibilities include operations of the manufacturing of heavy-duty
aluminum and cast iron pistons and cast iron cylinder liners at the Lake City,
Minnesota, and Germantown, Wisconsin, plants; and automotive pistons plant in
Malden, Missouri.
    Prior to this position, Fain was the plant manager at the Lake City,
Minnesota plant.  His previous experience includes 20 years with Dana
Corporation where he held various positions of plant manager, quality manager,
account manager and applications engineer.
    Fain earned a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from
Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, Indiana.

    Bob Fesser, Director of Sales and Engineering
    Bob Fesser has been appointed director of sales and engineering.  Fesser's
responsibilities include sales and engineering functions for the heavy-duty
and small engine/industrial markets for pistons, liners, rings, bearings,
bushings, washers and cylinder systems.
    Fesser has held various positions with Goetze Corporation of America and
T&N including account manager, applications manager, marketing and planning
manager, manager of market development and manager of sales and engineering.
Fesser earned a Master of Science degree in mechanical engineering and a
Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering technology from Northern
Illinois University.

    Darcio Giovanetti, Operations Manager - Pistons
    Darcio Giovanetti has been appointed operations manager - pistons.
Giovanetti's responsibilities include operations of the manufacturing of
articulated pistons and monoblock aluminum pistons for the heavy-duty market
at the Orangeburg, South Carolina and Sumter, South Carolina facilities.
    Giovanetti held a similar position with T&N (Metal Leve Inc.).  Prior to
moving to the United States in 1989, he worked at the Metal Leve S/A
facilities in Brazil as general manufacturing manager of the light/heavy-duty
pistons and piston pin plants.
    Giovanetti earned a Bachelor's degree in industrial mechanical engineering
at the Industrial Engineering University in Sao Paulo, Brazil and was also a
teacher of manufacturing technology and statistical quality control at the
University of Technology in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

    Homi Jijina, Manufacturing Technology Manager
    Homi Jijina has been appointed manufacturing technology manager.  Jijina's
responsibilities include manufacturing technology support for heavy-duty
pistons, liners, and rings.
    Jijina was the director of integrated engineering with AE Goetze - NA.
Prior to joining the T&N organization, Homi held a variety of positions in
India including vice president of Kinetic Engineering, Ltd., vice-president of
Isuzu Truck, and chief general manager for Escorts Group Limited.
    Jijina earned a Master of Science degree in engineering with distinction
in internal combustion engineering from the Indian Institute of Science in
Bangalore, India and a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering
from the Government College of Engineering in Bangalore, India.

    Morrie Ribble, Operations Manager - Rings
    Morrie Ribble has been appointed operations manager - rings.  Ribble's
responsibilities include the operation of the ring manufacturing locations in
Flowery Branch, Georgia; Manitowoc, Wisconsin; Sparta, Michigan; and Wausau,
Wisconsin.
    Ribble held a similar position with T&N.  Prior to his responsibility for
the ring plants, Ribble held positions in engineering and plant management.
He was employed by General Motors in Saginaw, Michigan, at the Central Foundry
Division holding various engineering and maintenance positions.
    Ribble earned a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from
the General Motors Institute, in Flint, Michigan.

    Keri Westbrooke, Director of Product Technology
    Keri Westbrooke has been appointed to director of product technology.
Westbrooke's responsibilities include design and analysis, test engineering,
product technology and Advanced Technical Centers projects for heavy-duty
pistons, liners, rings, bearings, and cylinder systems.
    Prior to this appointment, Westbrooke held various positions in the
heavy-duty truck and large bore industrial markets for AE Wellworthy, Goetze
Corporation of America, AE Goetze, and Metal Leve, Inc.
    Westbrooke received his engineering degree from Portsmouth College in
England.
