Land Rover Reports March SalesLANHAM, Md., April 1 -- Land Rover North America, Inc. (LRNA) today reported March sales of 1,341 compared to the 1,681 units sold in March 1997. Hughes, President, Land Rover North America, Inc., said, "While sales are behind last year, supply is opening up and we are looking forward to a strong month, when we will generate excitement leading up to April 30, the 50th Anniversary of Land Rover." Land Rover was introduced to the public on April 30th, 1948, at the Amsterdam International Motor Show. This April 30th, Land Rover retailers across the country will welcome owners to special celebrations. Not only will the events serve to raise money for the 180 institutional members of the American Zoo and Aquarium Association, there will also be local drawings for all-expense paid trips this summer to The Land Rover Lodge in southwest Colorado. The Land Rover Lodge is an exclusive vacation opportunity for Land Rover owners. Further, LRNA will present one lucky party-goer with a vintage Land Rover, and Land Rover Financial Services will give away two one-year leases on 1998 Land Rover Discoverys.
