Meritor Automotive Consolidates its Global Communication OperationsChristine A. Zwicke Named Senior Director, Communications TROY, Mich., April 1 -- Meritor Automotive Inc. , today announced organization changes designed to sharpen its focus, ensure consistency and expand the effectiveness of its global communication strategies. Juan DeLaRiva, vice president, Meritor Business Development and Communication, announced a realignment of the company's external strategic communications functions. Communication activities for its corporate operations, Heavy Vehicle Systems and Light Vehicle Systems businesses will be consolidated. The organization will be led by Christine A. Zwicke, who has been named senior director, Communications. Zwicke will report to DeLaRiva, with responsibility for worldwide strategic communications initiatives that include media relations and publicity, corporate identity development, product branding, trade shows and exhibits, electronic marketing, advertising and promotions, speech writing and executive communications. Reporting to Zwicke are D. Mike Pennington, director, Marketing Communications, Americas, responsible for developing and implementing marketing communications strategies for Meritor business units throughout the Americas; Norman Lemon, director, Marketing Communications, Europe and Asia/Pacific, responsible for developing and implementing marketing communications strategies for Meritor business units in Europe and the Asia/Pacific regions; Renee Rashid-Merem, manager, Communications, responsible for corporate media relations and publicity, brand management and corporate advertising programs; and, Peter Pavlovich, manager, Media Production. Zwicke joined Meritor in January 1997 as manager, Employee Communications and Public Affairs, from Rockwell Automation, where she managed its worldwide corporate public relations, employee communications and industry analysts communications functions. Prior to that, she has held increasingly responsible positions in manufacturing operations. Most recently, Zwicke was director, Corporate Communications. She holds a bachelor's degree in liberal arts from Alverno College, Milwaukee, and has attended Milwaukee Area Technical College and Marquette University.
