Chrysler Produces 250,000th Chrysler Voyager in EuropeGRAZ, Austria, March 25 -- Today, Chrysler produced its 250,000th Chrysler Voyager multi-purpose vehicle in Europe when a Chrysler Voyager SE model rolled off the line at Chrysler's Eurostar joint venture plant in Graz, Austria. "This is an exciting milestone for Chrysler in Europe," said Timothy R. Adams, President Chrysler Europe. "Our continued success is evidence of a great partnership with Steyr-Daimler-Puch and the tremendous dedication of our employees in Graz." Chrysler began producing the Chrysler Voyager in Graz in October, 1991 for sale in Europe and export to the Middle East and Africa. The Voyager is produced with a variety of engines including the 2.0 liter, 2.4 liter, 3.3 liter, 3.8 liter and 2.5 liter turbo diesel, and is available with all-wheel drive. A right-hand drive version of the Voyager is also produced at Eurostar for sale in the United Kingdom and export to Japan and Australia. "This milestone at Eurostar is a result of the efforts of our highly skilled workforce and the valuable support of the community of Graz and Austria," said Gary W. In 1996 Eurostar achieved ISO 9002, a worldwide quality standard rating. The Eurostar operations have also achieved ISO 14001 and EMAS Environmental certification. The plant employs 1,650 personnel and has a production capacity of 55,000 vehicles in two shifts. The plant facility, under roof, is 53,000 squared meters. The plait site is 211,000 square meters. The Eurostar Automobilwerk GesmbH & Co. KG is a joint venture established in February 1990 between Chrysler Austria Ges.m.b.H. and Steyr-Daimler-Puch Fahrzeugtechnik AG & Co. Kg.
