Hilite Industries Announces Restoration of Q1 Status with Ford at Specialty Components and Assemblies DivisionELK GROVE VILLAGE, Ill., March 24 -- Hilite Industries, Inc. (the "Company" or "Hilite") announced today that Ford Motor Company has restored the Q1 status of the Company's specialty components and assemblies division. The division had been placed on Q1 probation in September 1996 due to certain quality issues. Q1 is a prestigious award reserved for suppliers that maintain excellent quality levels with Ford locations on an ongoing basis. This division's Q1 probation and restoration had no effect on the Company's brake valve and power transmission divisions which continued to maintain their present Q1 status. Dan Brady, Hilite's Chief Executive Officer, commented: "This recognition of the quality improvements at the division is well earned and deserved based upon the efforts of the division personnel with the support and guidance of Hilite's corporate management and with the cooperation and recommendations of Ford Motor Company. The specialty components and assemblies division is still on probation for quality issues at Visteon, a division of Ford Motor Company. Hilite will continue to make the necessary improvements to regain its quality rating with Visteon. The regaining of Q1 is a significant achievement for the division in that the division is now eligible to quote new business with Ford Motor Company."
