Carlisle Finalizes Joint Venture

    SYRACUSE, N.Y., March 24 -- Carlisle Companies Incorporated
announced today that its Carlisle Engineered Products subsidiary
completed the establishment of Lander-Carlisle Ltd., a joint venture with
Lander Plastics, Ltd. of Birmingham, England, for the manufacture and supply
of plastic components to automotive customers in the United Kingdom and other
European customers.
    Carlisle is a diversified manufacturer of products serving three major
markets: construction materials, transportation products and general industry.
