TRICO Products Corporation to Relocate Buffalo Headquarters to Michigan

Evaluation to be Conducted to Determine Viability
                     Of Buffalo Manufacturing Operations

BUFFALO, N.Y., March 18 -- TRICO Products Corporation today
announced that its headquarters will be relocating to Rochester Hills, MI.
The headquarters' office is expected to be relocated by the end of the year,
except for the MIS function which will be relocating throughout 1999. TRICO
officials also announced that an evaluation would be conducted to determine
the long-term viability of the Buffalo manufacturing operations.
"Despite the long and mutually beneficial relationship between the city of
Buffalo and the Western New York community, we feel the efficiencies and
economics that come with consolidating our corporate resources make this a
prudent and necessary decision," said Patrick DiNicola, vice president,
finance, TRICO Products Corporation.
The decision to relocate headquarters does not impact the approximately
200 UAW manufacturing jobs currently in Buffalo. However, DiNicola said that
TRICO is making a thorough evaluation of its Buffalo manufacturing operations.
The company will be assessing such factors as overhead, excess capacity and
other operating costs and issues. DiNicola also added that the evaluation
could result in the closing of the Buffalo manufacturing operations as well.
TRICO Products Corporation is one of the world's leading manufacturers of
windshield wiping systems, windshield wiper blades and refills, with one or
more of TRICO's products used on 75 percent or more of original equipment
models in North America.
