Arch Associates LLC Announces CQA-Based Global IATCA ISO 9000 Auditor Certification Courses

17 March 1998

Arch Associates LLC Reports CQA Route to New Global IATCA ISO 9000 Auditor Certification Continues Until Fall 1998

NORTHVILLE, Mich., March 17 -- Don't waste your invested
Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) effort and this opportunity for "simplified
requirements," says Arch Associates LLC. Use your American Society for
Quality (ASQ) CQA status plus accredited 16 hour ISO 9000 course for RAB
certification and subsequent International Auditor Training and Certification
Association (IATCA) certification. There are only three accredited 16 hour
course providers. Classes may be "sold out" due to the twenty student class
size limit as CQAs become aware of this opportunity. Do not delay.

The International Auditor and Training Certification Association (IATCA)
was formed to communize auditor certification between existing and newly
emerging certification programs. Our Registrar Accreditation Board (RAB) is a
member of IATCA. Certification body members, e.g. RAB, IRCA, etc., will
maintain their current programs into the future; and, also, will support the
additional unique IATCA program for global uniformity. IATCA training and
experience requirements are different from any current certification, e.g.
RAB, IRCA, etc.
Current Registrar Accreditation Board (RAB) training requirements for
certification as an ISO 9000 Series Quality Management Systems certified
auditor are the same regardless of certification level. Differences between
RAB certification as a Provisional Auditor, Auditor and Lead Auditor consist
solely of experience and witnessing party, not training.
RAB training requirements apply to two Subject Matter (SM) areas. The
first SM requirement is appropriate knowledge for conducting audits. This is
fulfilled by approximately twenty hours of a 36 hour "Lead Auditor" course or
CQA STATUS. The second SM requirement is knowledge of the ISO 9000 series.
This ISO 9000 series portion is fulfilled by about 16 hours of a 36 hour "Lead
Auditor" course or RAB accredited 16 hour ISO 9000 Series course.
Specifically, RAB accepts the CQA and successful completion of an accredited
16 hour course as full satisfaction of training requirements. Awareness of
this route to RAB auditor certification is not widespread. This is because
the majority of initial ISO certified auditor courses were developed in Europe
where ASQC CQA certification is not common place.
RAB certifications are accepted by International Registry of Certified
Auditors (IRCA) as equivalent and satisfying of requirements for IRCA
certification. IRCA is a globally recognized affiliate of the United
Kingdom's Institute of Quality Assurance.
Long-term, IATCA will not recognize the CQA plus RAB accredited 16 hour
course certification route. However, all RAB certifications are accepted as
equivalent under "simplified requirement" for initial IATCA certification
until the Fall of 1998. CQAs will be required to take the entire five days of
IATCA training if they do not successfully complete a RAB accredited 16 hour
course, attain RAB certification and use RAB certified auditor status to
attain IATCA certification before the end of the "simplified requirements,"
period, Fall 1998.
