Federal-Mogul Names Edward W. Gray, Jr. General Counsel

    SOUTHFIELD, Mich., March 12 -- Dick Snell, Chairman and Chief
Executive Officer of Federal-Mogul Corporation , today announced
the appointment of Edward W. Gray, Jr. to Senior Vice President, General
Counsel and Secretary, effective immediately.
    Gray joins Federal-Mogul from the Chicago law firm of Fitch, Even, Tabin
and Flannery, where he was the managing partner for the Washington, D.C.
office.
    Before joining Fitch, Even, Tabin and Flannery, Gray was a founding
partner of Gray, Blount & Associates, LLP Washington, D.C., a minority-owned
firm providing a broad range of general commercial legal services.  Prior to
that, Gray was at R.R. Donnelley & Sons Company, where his most recent
position was Vice President, Information Services.  During his 20-year career
at R.R. Donnelley & Sons, he also served as general attorney in the Corporate
Legal Department.  Gray also served as a senior official in the United States
General Accounting Office as a participant in Exchange XV, of the President's
Commission on Executive Exchange.  Gray began his legal career as an associate
attorney with the Chicago law firm of Kirkland & Ellis.

    Gray earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Chicago.  He
received his Juris Doctor from Columbia University Law School, and a
certificate in Foreign and Comparative Law from Parker School, Columbia
University Law School.  Gray is a member of the California, Illinois and
District of Columbia bars.  He is a life member of the National Bar
Association.  Gray is a principal in The Council for Excellence in Government.
    Gray replaces Diane Kaye, who has left the company to pursue other
opportunities.
