Hayes Lemmerz International to Nearly Double Its Steel Wheel Manufacturing Facility in Bowling Green, Kentucky

   - 133,000-Square-Foot Expansion to be Marked by Groundbreaking Ceremony
       Involving Hayes Plant Executives & the Mayor of Bowling Green -

    BOWLING GREEN, Ky.,  March 11 -- Hayes Lemmerz International
, the world's leading supplier of wheels and brake components to
the transportation industry, announced today that it will nearly double the
size of its Bowling Green manufacturing facility to meet strong customer
demand.
    Hayes will expand its Bowling Green plant more than 130,000 square feet,
from 171,000 square feet to 304,000.  The additional space will serve as
warehouse space for raw materials and finished goods.  The investment is
expected to be nearly $2 million and is part of a project that has resulted in
production increases and approximately 200 jobs for the Bowling Green
facility.
    The Bowling Green facility currently produces fabricated steel wheels for
General Motors, Ford, Chrysler, Toyota, and Mitsubishi.
    "This latest expansion ensures that we can continue to meet strong
customer demand while bringing new jobs to Bowling Green," said Bernie Polzin,
Plant Manager of Hayes' Bowling Green facility.
