Hayes Lemmerz Receives Brake Rotor Contract for Jeep Grand Cherokee

    ROMULUS, Mich., March 9 -- Hayes Lemmerz International, Inc.
announced today that it has received a contract from ITT
Automotive to supply brake rotors for the 1999 model Chrysler Jeep Grand
Cherokee.
    Beginning later this year, Hayes Lemmerz will supply the front and rear
brake rotors from its manufacturing facility in Homer, Mich., near Jackson.
The contract with Jeep is expected to result in over $20 million in annual
sales.

executive officer of Hayes Lemmerz.  "We obviously are pleased with this new
contract, which we believe is a result of Chrysler and ITT's continued
