Chrysler Corporation Recognizes Three Oxford Automotive, Inc. Plants For Supply Excellence

TROY, Mich., March 6 -- Chrysler Corporation
recognized three Oxford Automotive, Inc. manufacturing plants, located in
Lapeer, Mich.; Lordstown, Ohio; and Masury, Ohio, with the Gold Pentastar
Award for supply excellence. Chrysler Gold Pentastar awards are presented
each year to automotive suppliers who achieve outstanding performance in the
areas of quality, delivery and warranty.
The 1997 awards mark the third year in a row the Masury, Lordstown and
Lapeer operations have received the Gold Pentastar. The three plants have
been under Oxford Automotive management since August 1997, when the company
acquired Howell Industries.
"Oxford Automotive views quality and customer service as top priorities,
company wide," said Steve Abelman, president and chief executive officer.
"We're extremely proud of these three locations for their enduring ability to
deliver excellence."
"As exemplified by the outstanding efforts of our Lapeer, Lordstown and
Masury employees, Oxford Automotive's goal is to offer continuous improvement
not just in quality, but also in our efforts on S.C.O.R.E., Minority Sourcing
and Engineering Leadership," said Bob LaCourciere, director of Oxford
Automotive's Chrysler Business Unit. "I am completely confident we will
continue to provide the highest level of product and service to Chrysler."
Oxford's Lapeer, Lordstown and Masury facilities produce control arms,
engine brackets, transmission brackets, skid plates, cross members and other
suspension componentry for the Dodge Durango sport-utility vehicle, the Dodge
Ram pickup, the Dodge Ram van, the Jeep Grand Cherokee, the Jeep Cherokee and
the Jeep Wrangler.
