Chrysler Corporation Recognizes Three Oxford Automotive, Inc. Plants For Supply ExcellenceTROY, Mich., March 6 -- Chrysler Corporation recognized three Oxford Automotive, Inc. manufacturing plants, located in Lapeer, Mich.; Lordstown, Ohio; and Masury, Ohio, with the Gold Pentastar Award for supply excellence. Chrysler Gold Pentastar awards are presented each year to automotive suppliers who achieve outstanding performance in the areas of quality, delivery and warranty. The 1997 awards mark the third year in a row the Masury, Lordstown and Lapeer operations have received the Gold Pentastar. The three plants have been under Oxford Automotive management since August 1997, when the company acquired Howell Industries. "Oxford Automotive views quality and customer service as top priorities, company wide," said Steve Abelman, president and chief executive officer. "We're extremely proud of these three locations for their enduring ability to deliver excellence." Oxford's Lapeer, Lordstown and Masury facilities produce control arms, engine brackets, transmission brackets, skid plates, cross members and other suspension componentry for the Dodge Durango sport-utility vehicle, the Dodge Ram pickup, the Dodge Ram van, the Jeep Grand Cherokee, the Jeep Cherokee and the Jeep Wrangler.
