Ford Distributes Record Profit Sharing in St. Paul

ST. PAUL, Minn., March 4 -- Employees at Ford Motor Company's
assembly plant received a nice reward today for all their hard work
over the past year in the form of record-high profit sharing checks.
Plant Manager Larry Wilson distributed checks averaging $4,400 to the
facility's 1,800 eligible UAW represented employees. "This record payout is a
tribute to the dedication and hard work of each of our employees," said
Wilson. "Each one of them should be proud of these record achievements."
Since Ford began paying profit sharing in 1984, employees have received an
average of more than $26,000. This is the 12th payment under the Profit
Sharing Plan first agreed to by the UAW and Ford in 1982.
The Twin Cities Assembly plant employs approximately 2,000 people and
builds the Ford Ranger compact pick-up truck. The plant opened in 1925 and
the Ranger has been the best-selling compact pickup for 11 years in a row.
