J.D. Power and Associates to Hold Inaugural Supplier Executive Forum

    TROY, Mich., March 4 -- J.D. Power and Associates announces
the inception of the Supplier Executive Forum, designed to provide an
opportunity to an elite group of high-level executives from the automotive
supplier community to obtain information and exchange ideas in the pursuit of
gaining a competitive edge.
    The Supplier Executive Forum will revolve around four strategic sessions,
during which time executives will receive valuable information from J.D. Power
and Associates on a variety of pertinent issues facing the automotive
industry.  Individual topics to be discussed during 1998 include: The Post
Asian Crisis: Revisiting Global Expansion Plans; Global Capacity and
Investment; Dynamics of the Sport Utility Vehicle Market; and, Latin America:
Stability or Crisis?
    "The automotive industry is experiencing turbulent times and we believe it
is important for executives to continually refine their tactics to meet short-
and long-term goals," said Harold Krivan, senior partner at J.D. Power and
Associates.  "The unique information that executives will receive by joining
this exclusive group will give them a distinct advantage when competing in a
global marketplace."
    Members of the Supplier Executive Forum will receive comprehensive, in-
depth research information on current and future industry conditions, as well
as an assessment regarding implications of trends in the market.  Attendees
will discuss these relevant issues with high-level OEM executives, leading
automotive supplier colleagues and Wall Street analysts.
    The Inaugural Supplier Executive Forum will be held April 30, 1998 at the
Ritz-Carlton in Dearborn, Mich.  The keynote speaker, Paul D. Ballew, senior
director of automotive analysis and chief economist for J.D. Power and
Associates, will lead the discussion on "Post Asian Crisis: Revisiting Global
Expansion Plans."  Future speakers will include representatives from major
OEMs and suppliers.
