Federal-Mogul Promotes Thomas W. Ryan to Executive Vice President And Chief Financial Officer

SOUTHFIELD, Mich., March 4 -- Federal-Mogul Chairman and
Chief Executive Officer Dick Snell announces the promotion of Thomas W. Ryan
to executive vice president and chief financial officer.
Ryan joined Federal-Mogul in February 1997 as senior vice president and
chief financial officer and has been instrumental in the company's substantial
turnaround. In the past year, Ryan has restructured the company's financing
to promote growth, supported two major acquisitions as well as the substantial
divestiture of non-performing assets, and instituted economic value added
(EVA) as the company's key financial driver. Ryan continues to be responsible
for the financial functions of treasury, corporate accounting, tax, audit and
information systems.
"Tom Ryan has been crucial to our success," said Snell. "Tom's vision,
hard work and humor have helped us keep a solid foundation in the chaos of
change. His promotion is very well deserved."
Ryan earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from
Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. He has held financial positions
in the automobile industry for 30 years.
Headquartered in Southfield, Michigan, Federal-Mogul is a
global manufacturer of a broad range of non-discretionary parts primarily for
automobiles, light trucks, heavy trucks, and farm and construction vehicles.
The company was founded in 1899. Visit the company's web site at
